Ecology is the study of everything, from the energy that flows through ecosystems, the biodiversity that gives ecosystems their structure, and the human societies that rely on them.

Brief Ecology is a weekly newsletter in which I provide short summaries of ecological research. I highlight recent studies in the field of ecology, and provide both scientific and societal context for the latest news regarding changes in the environment, climate, and biodiversity.

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update.

Why subscribe? You’ll get access to:

  • Regular deep dives into ecological topics like How Many Trees Are There? and how one state is hiding a petrochemical “ecosystem”

  • Bi-monthly Eco-Updates which include highlights of recent environmental news, ecological research, eco-fiction, and ways you can get involved in the fight to save the ecosphere.

  • Paid Subscribers: Full access to my current essay series, Ecologizing Society, which is an attempt to collect the fundamental knowledge we currently have about how to create an ecological society.

  • And the most important thing–you’ll be supporting the kind of science communication and journalism increasingly threatened by the billionaires buying and controlling legacy media.
